Exams can be stressful or a walk in the park, depends upon how you tackle the entire phase. Studying for exams is tiresome but you can simplify it by enhancing and improving the way you study. A well-developed schedule will help you to prepare in the best possible way and overcome the exam of fear. Here are some tips that’ll help you to prepare for exam efficaciously.

1. Gearing Up

You need to start by reviewing the syllabus, you must figure out the number of topics, units and chapters. You’ll be requiring the syllabus to prepare schedule for exampreparation. Next,you need to be active in class and note down important points during the lecture. If you actively listen to the lecturer or professor, half of your work is done. When you return back to home, just revise all the points you’ve noted down in the notebook. Revising notes regularly is important as it will help you to keep aligned with the class. Further, you need to be clear about the format of exam. You must know how much it weighs in your entire curriculum, whether the exam is subjective or objective, andnumber of question.

2.Calm environment for Studying

Prepare a calm and cool environment free from any sort of distraction to study. Sit in a clean, quiet and peaceful environment. This’ll allow you to converge your entire focus and study efficiently. Studying in a dark room is not optimal as it will strain your eyes rapidly. Ensure that the studying room has optimal lighting. Put your mobile phone on silent mode and turn the TV off. You must be good at multitasking but you need to be free from any sort of distraction while studying. You can put on your earphones and listen to calm instrumental music. This will keep you active and focused.

3. Organized Learning

If you study in a random fashion, you wouldn’t be able to achieve anything in the end. You must follow a schedule and study accordingly. Remember, you need to study smart, not hard. Make short term plan and objectives that you need to achieve in a study session. Remember to write and study as you are more likely to blank out if you only study verbally. Review your class notes on daily basis and extract out important information. 4. Productive Learning

Each study session must be focused onachieving a particular set of objectives.Just find out whether you are a morning person or night owl. It’s perfectly fine if you like to study late in the night. Let go of anything you have on your mind and be comfortable, relaxed while you study. If you are tired and distressed, you won’t be able to study properly and end up wasting your time. Start preparing early and leave away the habit of procrastination.Study in small units of 25 minutes each, take break for 5 minutes and continue. Perform this activity for three to four times and take a long break of 30 minutes. This way you’ll be able to study effectively and give your mind time to reenergize itself.

You start off with high energy and eventually lose momentum as you progress. This is human nature and there’s nothing to worry about it. But you must be able to keep yourself motivated throughout the entire journey to maximize the result. Analyze various aspects and think positively. Self-confidence is an important trait that you must possess. Prepare for the worst-case scenario but never stop believing in yourself. If you get stuck on a particular topic, don’t hesitate and call for help. Asking for help will not expose you as a weak person, just reach out to your lecturer or a friend and discuss the issue. You’ll get a perfect solution to the problem you were facing.

6. The Real Battle

Ensure that you took sound sleep of eight hours before the exam. Most students think that studying overnight and revising stuff will be effective but in turn it will only make you tired and exhausted during the exam. Your brain will only be able to memorize and write down, if you are relaxed and cool. If you reach the exam hall in a sleepy and tired mood, believe it or not you’ll not be able to perform best. Thus, sleep well before exam day. Never eat heavy junk food before you go to exam, always eat healthy and light meal. Reach the exam hall well before time, find your seat and make yourself comfortable. Once you get the question paper, don’t just start randomly. To save time, attempt the question you know very well and proceed to hard questions. Don’t waste time on questions you feel are hard and save time from the beginning of exam. You’ll be able to maximize output and minimize time loss.
